Eligibility / Qualifications
- Educational Background: PhD in neuroscience, medicine, biomedical engineering, physiotherapy, physiology, or a related field.
- Core Requirement: Demonstrated knowledge and prior experience in human pain research is a prerequisite.
- Technical Skills: Experience with techniques such as electroencephalography (EEG), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), TMS-EEG, transcranial electrical stimulation (tES), quantitative sensory testing (QST), psychological profiling, or programming for data analysis (Matlab, R, Python, or machine learning) is highly advantageous.
- Language Proficiency: High level of English proficiency (oral and written).
- Soft Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong dissemination abilities, and a collaborative mindset for working in a cross-disciplinary team.
Job Description
As a Postdoc at CNAP, your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting research on human brain changes in chronic and experimental pain conditions as part of a Lundbeck Professorship grant.
- Utilizing experimental techniques including EEG, TMS, TMS-EEG, tES, QST, and psychological profiling to study and modulate cortical brain activity.
- Running clinical and experimental studies involving healthy controls and pain patients to evaluate the dynamic neuroplastic properties of the pain system.
- Performing large-scale data analysis and applying quantitative modeling techniques.
- Writing and publishing research results in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- Presenting research findings at national and international conferences and participating in public dissemination.
- Active involvement in the academic life of CNAP ( seminars, Round Table Meetings, research discussions).
