Eligibility / Qualification
Essential Requirements
- Education: Ph.D. in Physics, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Technical Experience:
- Proven track record in THz spectroscopy, spintronics, and material science.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in the development, operation, and optimization of THz sources and detection systems.
- Prior practical experience in THz imaging and optical setup alignment.
- Proficiency in material characterization techniques.
- Programming Skills: Strong proficiency in Python programming for data acquisition and post-data processing/image reconstruction.
- Communication & Writing: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with a demonstrated record of writing research papers, reports, and scientific publications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and practice of standard laboratory safety protocols and procedures.
- Excellent project and organizational management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Capability to conduct independent research with minimal supervision.
- Experience in guiding or assisting in the co-supervision of Final Year Project (FYP), Master’s, or Ph.D. students.
Job Description & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Spectrometer Fabrication: Contribute to and support the design and fabrication of a spintronic THz spectrometer platform.
- Optical Setup & Alignment: Design and align pump-probe optical pathways based on oscillator lasers, spintronic THz emission, and photoconductive antenna detection.
- Algorithm & Software Development: Develop and optimize computational reconstruction algorithms to resolve 2D images in real time and surpass diffraction limits (<20 µm / ~λ/15 resolution).
- Research Dissemination: Prepare, write, and contribute to high-impact research papers, technical documentation, and progress reports.
- General Laboratory Support: Carry out additional research-related duties as designated by the Principal Investigator (PI).
