Research Area & Job Description
The successful candidate will contribute to advanced theoretical and applied research in modern control and multi-agent coordination. Key responsibilities and focus areas include:
- Conducting cutting-edge research in optimal control theory, differential game theory, mean-field game theory, and mean-field-type game theory.
- Developing mathematical frameworks and computational algorithms for the control, optimization, and coordination of complex dynamical systems.
- Applying theoretical insights to real-world multi-agent systems, including autonomous systems, robotics, and distributed decision-making architectures.
- Publishing scientific findings in leading international journals and presenting at premier engineering and control conferences.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary research teams within the NYU Global Network.
Eligibility and Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- Education: A Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience: Must be within 5 years post-receipt of their doctoral degree at the time of appointment.
- Expertise: Strong theoretical background in control systems, dynamic games, optimization, or multi-agent systems.
- Skills: Demonstrated analytical capabilities, mathematical rigor, programming proficiency, and a proven track record of scholarly publications.
