Summary
Virginia Tech invites applications for multiple Postdoctoral Associate positions in theoretical Quantum Information Science within the Computer Science Department at the Institute for Advanced Computing in the greater Washington, D.C. metro area. Eligibility/Qualification
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Quantum Information Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Theoretical Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Ph.D. must have been awarded no more than five years prior to the effective date of appointment, with a minimum of one year of postdoctoral eligibility remaining.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of concepts and techniques from Quantum Information Science.
- Experience with Python, Julia, Mathematica, and quantum programming environments like Qiskit.
Job Description
Postdoctoral Associates will conduct research in the specified areas of theoretical Quantum Information Science. They will disseminate research results through journal publications and conference presentations. There will be opportunities for collaboration with other members of the larger group at Virginia Tech and with leading experimental and theory groups globally. The positions also involve opportunities for travel to present research at conferences and collaborate with other research groups.
Salary Information
65,000 – 80,000 USD, commensurate with experience.
