About- UNSW is recognised as one of the world’s top science and technology universities by its membership within prestigious international networks. Application for PhD Scholarship in Energy Storage is now open. UNSW received more than $100M in international research funding from 2011 – 2015 for projects in areas of research strength including biomedical engineering, photovoltaics, quantum computing, new materials and social policy. Our international research partners are extensive and diverse and include the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, European Commission, US National Institutes of Health, US Army, Baosteel Corporation (China), Oli and Natural Gas Corporation (India) and PT SOHO Global Health (Indonesia).

Eligibility/Qualification–

  • The scholarship is open to both international and domestic applicants. 
  • The candidate is expected to hold the equivalent  of a First-Class Honours degree in Engineering or Chemistry. The candidate must meet the UNSW admission requirements for the higher Degree Research UNSW (https://selfassessment.research.unsw.edu.au/)
  • Demonstrated research capability (through undergraduate or Masters thesis) in engineering or chemistry.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and management skills

Job/Position Description- 

This project is supported by the ARC Research Hub for Integrated Energy Storage Solutions at UNSW which conducts research in securing a reliable and economically efficient energy supply. This particular project involves research into flow batteries, including iron and vanadium-based systems.  the project offers the PhD candidate an opportunity to enter an exciting critical field for energy storage and be part of an international leading research team. The scholarship is open to both domestic and international students.
