Essential Qualification & Eligibility
Doctoral Degree (Ph.D) or Master’s Degree in Engineering or Technology in Bioinformatics / Computational Biology / Structural Biology / Biotechnology /Bioinformatics / Computational Biology / Structural Biology / Biotechnology /Biochemistry / Life Sciences from a recognized Institute / University.
(Upper age limit – 35 years)
Desirable
Two years’ experience in large-scale biological data analysis, developing bioinforrnatics related databases and software tools with a proven record of publications, software products in public domain, Strong programming skills in HTML, Python, Perl, MySQL and strong knowledge in Bioinformatics, Computer Aided Drug Design, Molecular Biology, Structural Biology, Pharmacogenomics, Applied Chemistry, Theoretical & Computational Chemistry, Plant Biotechnology, Biochemical and Biophysical Characterization.

Project Scientist-I (One Number)

Project Scientist will be responsible for carrying out research activities in the field of Bioinformatics, Computer Aided Drug Design, Structural Biology, Pharmacogenomics, Applies, Chemistry, Theoretical & Computational Chemistry and Emerging computational biology technologies (nosocomial bacterial and viral pathogens). The Candidates will work in database creation (Perl, MySQL], tools generation [Python, Peri, CSS], maintain the servers in the department. The candidates will identify potent inhibitors for the targets involved in the project using various computational approaches. The candidates will also design and perform cloning, purification and structure determination of various targets from nosocomial bacterial pathogens. The candidates will also work with the PI’s to create necessary infrastructure and provide information through computer support services tar the national community of researchers. The candidate may be engaged in teaching/ training on the topics of Bioinformatics/ Computational biology, helping department faculty in preparing manuscripts and research grant applications/ reports from time to time as per the time scheduling advised by the Project Coordinator & PE’s.

Duration- The selected candidates will be appointed on purely temporary basis Initially for a period of 1 year and can be extended each year based on the performances (review process) of the candidates.
