Post Doctoral Research Fellow: Atrium Health McColl Lockwood Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated Post Doctoral Research Fellow to join our dynamic team. As a Post Doctoral Research Fellow, you will have the opportunity to design experiments, conduct research procedures, and collaborate with other team members. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of research ideas, conduct experiments, analyze data, and prepare findings for publication and presentation. Additionally, you will assist in the preparation of grant applications and contribute to the development of new methodologies in sample preparation and analysis. This is a full-time position located in Charlotte, NC, United States.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • MD, PhD, or both in Proteomics, Biochemistry, Biology, or Bioinformatics required
  • 3 years of relevant pre-doctoral research experience required
  • Experience in cell cultures, biochemical techniques such as subcellular fractionation, MudPIT, and Western blot analysis preferred
  • Prior experience in database establishment and scripting languages preferred

Job Description:

  • Perform cell preparations and cultures, including maintaining cell lines, treating, harvesting, and analyzing cell cultures and/or suitable animal tissues, including human tissues.
  • Conduct analyses using biochemical techniques.
  • Establish a database management system.
  • Produce abstracts and manuscripts for publication and presentation at scientific meetings.
  • Assist in the preparation of grant applications.
  • Contribute to the development of new methodologies in sample preparation and analysis of samples for molecular and biochemical analyses.
  • Instruct and train other laboratory employees in the use of laboratory instruments, equipment, and techniques.
  • Coordinate with other researchers.
