Postdoctoral Position in RNA: Human Technopole (HT), an interdisciplinary life science research institute supported by the Italian Government, is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher for the Legnini Group in the Genomics Research Centre. Research Area: Biology, Bioinformatics/Computational Biology, Biophysics, Biochemistry, or related disciplines

Location: Milan, Italy

Eligibility/Qualification: Mandatory requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Biology, Bioinformatics/Computational Biology, Biophysics, Biochemistry, or related disciplines.
  • Knowledge of transcriptomic technologies, including bulk, single-cell, and spatial transcriptomics.
  • Proficiency in R or Python for the analysis of transcriptomic data (short/long read sequencing, single-cell/spatial transcriptomics).
  • Strong knowledge of statistics and data analysis approaches for RNA/protein/imaging data.
  • Fluency in English.

Preferential requirements:

  • Knowledge and interest in RNA biology and/or neurobiology/neurodevelopment.
  • Experience with quantitative modeling of gene expression/RNA metabolism, machine learning, and advanced image analysis.

Job Description: The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Designing, performing, and analyzing high-throughput and multi-modal transcriptomic experiments, such as bulk and single-cell RNA-seq, spatial transcriptomics, CLIP, and Ribo-seq.
  • Developing novel ideas, approaches, or technologies to study gene regulation, RNA metabolism, and related research interests.
  • Generating and documenting data, protocols, and code for publication.
  • Drafting manuscripts and creating figures based on research findings.
  • Collaborating and supporting other members of the laboratory.
  • Sharing and discussing research results with key collaborators within the group and external collaborations.
  • Presenting scientific results at international meetings.
