Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD degree at the start of the contract
  • Experience in machine learning methods for scientific applications
  • Familiarity with developing custom deep learning architectures (Computer Vision/NLP/large language models/diffusion models/symbolic regression)
  • Experience in machine learning modeling of tabular physics data
  • Background in physics, astrophysics, Hamiltonian dynamics, or galactic dynamics

Job Description:

Post-doctoral research contract to develop a (deep learning) physics reasoning engine for dynamical analysis methods M/W (F/M)

  • Condense a large language model to serve as a physics reasoning engine
  • Implement the engine within dynamical analysis algorithms
  • Conduct tests of different gravitational theories using state-of-the-art data, including data from the Gaia space mission
