NTBG Postdoctoral position: The National Tropical Botanical Garden (NTBG) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher for an NSF-funded position. The position is based at the NTBG headquarters on Kauaʻi, Hawaiʻi, and focuses on the systematics and evolution of Hawaiian plant radiations. The candidate will work with a group of researchers to study and improve the classifications of certain Hawaiian lineages that have not been extensively studied.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in biology, evolution, systematics, or related field
- Track record of publishing research in systematics using diverse data
- Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting molecular and other trait data
- Experience in performing taxonomic revisions and analyzing morphological data
- Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Hawaiian flora and experience with collection curation is advantageous
- Understanding of biocultural taxonomy and concepts is advantageous
- Experience with plant conservation or conservation assessments is advantageous
- Intercultural experience working with agencies, organizations, and nonprofits is advantageous
Job Description: The postdoctoral researcher will work closely with the project principal investigators and staff, utilizing project-generated datasets along with morphological, ecological, and biogeographical information. The goal is to produce collaborative research publications that refine classifications and enhance understanding of the diversification factors within selected Hawaiian lineages. The researcher will have the opportunity to participate in various activities, including fieldwork, collections curation, conservation assessments, supervision of students, curriculum development, teaching, and communication.
