Leverhulme Trust-funded Postdoctoral: The Department of Chemistry at the University of Manchester invites applications for a Leverhulme Trust-funded Postdoctoral Research Associate position. Eligibility/Qualification:

  • A PhD in synthetic organic chemistry (already obtained or in progress).
  • Experience in methodology development and target synthesis is preferred.
  • Strong initiative, leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Job Description: The successful candidate will undertake a challenging research project involving the development of visible light-mediated, metal-free coupling processes with a focus on sulfonium salts. This 24-month position requires a skilled synthetic organic chemist capable of conducting independent research and leading a research team. The role will involve planning, executing experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to the advancement of the research area. Additionally, the successful candidate will collaborate with Prof David J. Procter and other team members, publish research findings in scientific journals, and contribute to presentations at conferences and seminars.
