About- Post-Doctoral Researcher is required for the project titled “Quantum Information, Communication and Computing” in the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Madras. The selected candidates will have the unique opportunity to coordinate with experienced researchers in experimental and theoretical quantum information and computing.

Eligibility/Qualification–

Doctorate (fresher) or master’s degree with 5+ years of industrial experience in R&D in area Switched mode power conversion.
Good fundamental knowledge in Switched mode power conversion to design and develop high efficiency AC/DC power supplies for 3 phase input, output power of >5kW along with knowledge of magnetic component design, high frequency high power PCB layout, Firmware development, DFMEA and RCA methods.

Job Description:

Primary role of Lead Engineer / Technical Lead / Senior Technical Lead will be to design and develop high efficiency AC/DC power supplies with 3 phase AC input and output power of >5kW with excellent theoretical and analytical skills in designing and analyzing power and control circuits.
Should be independently able to design magnetics components, power component selection, PCB design.
Candidate should have a strong innovative mind set and be able to work as a team.

Preferred Experience:

Candidate should have strong working knowledge of Power electronics circuit design including magnetics, high density electronics packaging, thermal design, mechanical design, PCB design, design for EMC and compliance to global safety standards and design for manufacturing and sourcing.
Experience in designing power electronics circuits using SiC and GaN devices will be plus.
Experience in designing control and management circuits using DSP and FPGA’s.
Hands-on experience with design and simulation software like MathCAD, SIMPLIS, MATLAB, P-spice, Powersim etc.
Understanding of system architecture design & cross-functional integration.
Develop state diagram for control engineers.
Should have experience in solving Electrical, Thermal and EMC issues in product will be plus.
Should be able to perform tolerance analysis, worst-case circuit analysis.
The ability to code control firmware will be an added advantage.
Demonstrated experience to complete product development life cycle (concept to EOL) will be plus.
Experience in working with global customers and manufacturing companies will be a plus.
Product development experience in Agile will be a plus.

Job/Position Description-

Applications are invited for the temporary post of Lead Engineer / Technical Lead / Senior Technical Lead – Power conversion (R&D) for Solid-State Microwave Generator Group, India Center for Lab Grown Diamond (InCent-LGD), IIT Madras.

Co-ordinator: Prof. Ramachandra Rao MS, Department of Physics, IIT Madras.

Duration: Initially for one year, later extendable based on performance.

All the positions are on purely contract basis.
