Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD or submitted PhD thesis in Combustion/Physical Chemistry or a related field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering).
  • Strong competence in combustion chemistry.
  • Experience and competence in using experimental combustion facilities.
  • A demonstrated track record of published papers in peer-reviewed journals.
  • An interest in combustion.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills for collaboration within the research group and with industrial partners.

Job Description:

Postdoctoral Researcher – Experimental Shock Tube and Rapid Compression Machine Studies

The Postdoctoral Researcher’s responsibilities include:

  • Conducting shock tube and rapid compression machine studies on fuels.
  • Supervising and mentoring PhD and undergraduate students in conducting these studies.
  • Writing and publishing international peer-reviewed journal articles.
  • Managing all aspects of the research project, including data recording, interpretation, validation, and dissemination.
  • Preparing periodic scientific reports and maintaining confidentiality of intellectual property.
  • Representing the research group at local, national, and international events.

Salary:

  • Postdoctoral Researcher salary scale: €42,033 – €54,153 per annum (Pro Rata), subject to project funding limitations.

Start Date:

  • Immediately for one year, with the possibility of extension based on funding availability.
