POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS: Harvard University: The Mahindra Humanities Center is pleased to announce the availability of six one-year postdoctoral fellowships for the academic year 2024-25. These fellowships are focused on the environmental humanities, encompassing a wide range of humanistic disciplines and global perspectives. Eligibility/Qualification: Applicants for the 2024-25 fellowships must have received a doctorate or terminal degree in or after May 2021. Those without a doctorate must demonstrate completion of all terminal degree requirements by August 1, 2024. International scholars will be appointed under J-1 or F-1 OPT status based on their circumstances.

Job Description: As a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Mahindra Humanities Center, you will have the opportunity to pursue your own research project while actively participating in bi-weekly seminar meetings throughout the academic year. Your engagement will extend to faculty, graduate students, and visiting speakers, fostering interdisciplinary discussions on environmental humanities. Fellows are expected to be in residence at Harvard for the duration of the fellowship.

  2. A statement of the research project (1,000-3,000 words) outlining your proposed work during the fellowship year.
  3. One chapter- or article-length writing sample (maximum 40 pages).
  4. Names and contact information of three referees, who will receive system-generated emails to upload letters of recommendation. The application is considered complete only when all three letters have been received.
