Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Doctorate in Chemistry or Materials Science
  • Solid background in Polymer Chemistry
  • Previous experience in organic synthesis and polymerization
  • Knowledge in anionic polymerization (beneficial)
  • Ability to work under inert-gas conditions (Schlenk-line)
  • Expertise in polymer characterization
  • Experience in battery assembly and testing
  • Strong team player with good communication skills

Job Description:

Postdoctoral Researcher – Novel Sustainable Polymer Electrolytes for Lithium Ion Batteries

This interdisciplinary project, in collaboration with HyET Lithium, focuses on the development of novel polymer electrolytes for batteries. As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will tackle scientific questions using various experimental techniques, including organic synthesis, living polymerization techniques, chemical modifications of polymers, and state-of-the-art polymer characterization methods. The research also involves the formulation of new battery assemblies using technologies established at UT and HyET Lithium.

You will share your time between the Sustainable Polymer Chemistry and the Inorganic Materials Science groups as part of the MESA+ Institute for Nanotechnology at UT. This environment offers advanced tools for nanoscale characterization and fabrication, as well as a vibrant community of over 250 PhD students working on various nanoscience and technology aspects.
