PhD Scholarship – Dissecting the Temporal and Functional Dynamics of the Plant Clock Interactome (ref. BAP-2023-683)
The PhD position is focused on dissecting the temporal and functional dynamics of the plant clock interactome. This project aims to develop a deep understanding of how clock transcription factors (TFs) act to impact the expression of their target genes, using plant synthetic biology tools. The project involves experiments in DNA assembly, protein biochemistry, high-throughput proteomics, and bioinformatics. The research will contribute to a better understanding of plant clocks and potentially lead to new targets for crop improvement.
Eligibility: We are looking for candidates with a Master’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Synthetic Biology, Bioengineering, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, or related fields. The ideal candidate should have experience in molecular biology or biochemistry labs, intermediate programming or data-analysis skills (or the willingness to develop them), and a strong interest in scientific research. Good academic performance at both the MSc and BSc levels, English communication skills, an eagerness to learn new techniques, and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team are also desired qualities.
