Postdoctoral Researcher (Penfield Group): The John Innes Centre has an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Penfield Group. Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Ph.D. in plant molecular biology (full award or expected within 6 months).
  • Experience in epigenetics and next-generation sequencing approaches to gene function analysis.
  • Strong understanding of plant reproductive development or epigenetics.
  • A strong publication record commensurate with experience.

Job Description: The postdoctoral researcher will work in the Penfield Group led by Professor Steven Penfield. The role involves using molecular biology and genomics techniques to study how parental genotypes influence the effect of temperature on seed dormancy and germination. The research focuses on understanding how parental influences impact the physiology of embryo-surrounding tissues and seed behavior.

Salary: £35,300 – £43,750 per annum depending on qualifications and experience

Contract: 32 months, full-time
