The minimum qualifications are governed by applicable UGC/AICTE/NCTE/Rehabilitation Council of India regulations, as applicable to the discipline.

Assistant Professor – UGC Disciplines

Candidates must generally satisfy either of the prescribed eligibility routes:

• Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in the concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
• Candidates must have cleared UGC/CSIR NET or SLET/SET, or possess a Ph.D. meeting the applicable UGC requirements for exemption from NET/SLET/SET.
• A separate eligibility route is provided for candidates holding a Ph.D. from a foreign university/institution ranked among the world’s top 500 by QS, THE or ARWU.

Associate Professor – UGC Disciplines

• Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline.
• Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of teaching and/or research experience in an academic/research position equivalent to Assistant Professor.
• At least 7 publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
• Research score of at least 75 under the applicable UGC criteria.

Professor – UGC Disciplines

Candidates may qualify through the prescribed routes, including:

• Ph.D. in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline.
• Evidence of high-quality published research, including at least 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
• Research score of at least 120 under the applicable UGC criteria.
• Minimum 10 years of teaching experience at university/college level and/or equivalent research experience, with evidence of successfully guiding doctoral candidates.

An alternative route is provided for an outstanding professional with a relevant Ph.D. and significant contribution to the concerned discipline, supported by documentary evidence and 10 years’ experience.

Engineering & Technology Positions

For Engineering and Technology branches, eligibility is based on applicable AICTE regulations.

Assistant Professor:

• B.E./B.Tech./B.S. and M.E./M.Tech./M.S. or Integrated M.Tech. in the relevant branch.
• First class or equivalent in any one of the degrees.

Associate Professor:

• Ph.D. in the relevant field.
• First class or equivalent at Bachelor’s or Master’s level in the relevant branch.
• At least 6 research publications in SCI/UGC/AICTE-approved journals.
• Minimum 8 years’ teaching/research/industry experience, including at least 2 years of post-Ph.D. experience.

Professor:

• Ph.D. in the relevant field.
• First class or equivalent at Bachelor’s or Master’s level.
• Minimum 10 years’ teaching/research/industry experience, including at least 3 years at a post equivalent to Associate Professor.
• At least 6 research publications at Associate Professor level and at least 2 successfully guided Ph.D. candidates, or at least 10 research publications at Associate Professor level in the prescribed journals.

Management / Business Administration

Assistant Professor:

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration/PGDM/CA/ICWA/M.Com. with First Class or equivalent.
• Two years of professional experience after obtaining the Master’s degree.

Associate Professor and Professor requirements include the prescribed Ph.D., research publication and experience requirements under the applicable AICTE regulations.
