Postdoctoral Fellow in Public Humanities: The Humanities Research Institute at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in Public Humanities, supported by the Mellon Foundation Humanities Without Walls (HWW) initiative. This two-year appointment commences in Fall 2024 and focuses on collaborative, publicly engaged research and career development in the humanities. The Fellow will work on a community-based research project rooted in the HWW grant’s guiding methodologies of reciprocity and redistribution.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. in a humanities discipline obtained within the last three years (after May 1, 2021).
- Only untenured scholars who have not held the title of “assistant professor” are eligible.

Job Description: The Postdoctoral Fellow’s responsibilities include:
- Analyzing interview data using NVivo software.
- Developing codes to interpret interview data.
- Using Grounded Theory to consolidate codes into themes.
- Developing theories based on the codes and themes from interview data.
- Publishing research findings in EDI and business journals.
- Contributing to grant proposal writing and development.
- Participating in knowledge mobilization and dissemination activities.
- Engaging in outreach, presentations, and other academic service activities.

- A narrative statement describing the public humanities project (up to 2,000 words).
- An academic CV (not to exceed 10 pages).
- Two letters of recommendation (one from a dissertation advisor or senior faculty member).
