Postdoc in Macroecology: The Villum Center for Global Mountain Biodiversity at the GLOBE Institute is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual for a three-year Postdoctoral Fellow position in Macroecology, starting on January 1, 2024. Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in biology or related fields relevant to the position
  • Strong publication record in macroecology in top international peer-reviewed journals
  • Proficient in analytical and large-scale data handling skills
  • Experience in programming, model development, and application of models to address macroecological questions
  • Pre- and postgraduate university-level teaching experience in macroecology
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken

Job Description:

Postdoc in Macroecology at the Villum Center for Global Mountain Biodiversity, Globe Institute

The postdoc will work within the framework of the Villum Center for Global Mountain Biodiversity, collaborating with researchers to develop an integrative framework combining phylogeny, traits, species distribution, land-use, and climate data. The focus is on understanding speciation, movement, biotic and abiotic interactions, adaptation, and extinction to unravel global patterns of species assemblages and richness in mountain regions, primarily focusing on vertebrates, especially birds.
