MIT Postdoc in Electrical Stimulation: Join MIT’s cutting-edge research team in developing miniaturized micro-nano-devices for brain and spinal cord stimulation and recording. We are looking for postdocs to configure and implement these devices for in-vivo applications in healthy mice/rats and models of neurological diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and Neuropathic Pain.
Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher
Research Area: Brain/Spinal Cord Electrical Stimulation and Recording In-Vivo
Location: MIT, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Required:
- PhD in bioengineering, neuroscience, chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, mechanical/electrical/electronics engineering, physics, or a relevant field.
- Experience with Neuropathic Pain, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s diseases.
- Experience with mouse surgery, stereotactic injections, and implanting electrodes or fiber photometry.
- Experience in stimulation and/or recording from mice/rats brain.
- Experience in the validation of stimulation and/or recording.
- Experience with cultured cells.
- Preferred:
- Experience with stem cells, 3D cultures, and organoids.
- Experience with tumor models.
- Experience with isolation and preparation of primary cultured neurons.
- Experience with recording or stimulation in the Peripheral Nervous System (PNS).
- Experience with testing animal behavior.
- Experience in nanofabrication.
Job Description:
MIT Postdoc in Brain/Spinal Cord Electrical Stimulation and Recording In-Vivo in Mice/Rats
As a postdoctoral researcher at MIT, you will be responsible for characterizing and validating micro-nano-devices in cultured neurons. This includes injecting or implanting the devices into the mouse brain or peripheral nervous system (PNS). Your role will involve in-vivo characterization and validation of these devices in mice/rats, conducting brain stimulation and/or recording, and demonstrating applications in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and Neuropathic Pain.
How to Apply: Submit your application on the MIT website. We are actively seeking candidates to fill this position, so apply as soon as possible.
