Scholarship Description: The prospective PhD student will focus on identifying and quantifying target-user needs for a prosthetic device, specifically for high-functioning individuals with above knee amputation. The project, in collaboration with Össur Inc., aims to enhance physical function, propose intent control and sensory feedback, and consider safety, metabolic cost, and cognitive load. The project is funded for three years by the Össur and Ottobock Research Trust Fund.
Eligibility:
- Research Field: Medical Sciences
- Education Level: Master’s Degree or equivalent
- Skills/Qualifications:
- M.Sc. degree in a relevant field of Health Sciences (e.g., physical or occupational therapy, psychology, behavior analysis, clinical social work, medicine, nursing, or neuroscience).
- Independence and ability to work in a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Understanding or experience in multiple research methods (qual/quan/Single-Subject) is an advantage.
