Scholarship Description:

Doctoral Researcher Positions in Air Pollution Health Effects

The Doctoral Researcher positions involve experimental work using human cell culture models to investigate the effects of particulate air pollution on respiratory and cardiovascular cells. The positions are based at either the A.I. Virtanen Institute for Molecular Sciences or the Department of Environmental and Biological Sciences in Kuopio, Finland. The research spans a 2-year term, fostering engagement in scientific writing, grant applications, collaborations, and student supervision.

Eligibility:

  • Hold a Master’s degree in biomedicine, cell biology, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in the English language.
  • Good basic laboratory skills.
  • Experience in basic laboratory tasks.
  • Experience in cell culture is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with omics technologies and data analyses is a plus.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in international and multidisciplinary research teams.
