PhD Position – Laser Propagation Through Atmospheric Turbulence by Physics Informed Machine Learning
This PhD opportunity involves developing channel models for laser beam propagation through atmospheric turbulence compensated by adaptive optics. The project explores various optical propagation approaches, emphasizing the design of computationally efficient methods. Physics-informed machine learning algorithms will play a key role in achieving realistic, detailed channel models with computational efficiency. The research also involves validating these models through experimental data, offering a stimulating experience in both theoretical and experimental aspects.
Eligibility: Must-haves:
- MSc in physics, engineering, or equivalent
- Strong analytical skills
- Proven record in programming skills
- Proficiency in English
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary, highly dynamic environment
Nice-to-haves:
- Background in optical propagation, turbulence modeling, machine learning, or laser satellite communications
