About- Kannur University was established by the Act 22 of 1996 of the Kerala Legislative Assembly. The University the name “Malabar University” had come into existence earlier by the promulgation of an Ordinance by the Governor of Kerala, on 9th November 1995. The University was inaugurated on 2nd March 1996 by the former Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala. The objective of the Kannur University Act 1996 is to establish a teaching, residential, and affiliating university in the state of Kerala, promoting the development of higher education in Kasargod and Kannur revenue districts and the Mananthavady Taluk of Wayanad District.

Eligibility/Qualification–
Minimum qualification prescribed for the post of Assistant Professor as per UGC Regulation 2018 .
Age Limit as on 01.01.2023 Maximum age will be 65 years as on 01/01/2023 .
Job/Position Description-
The Assistant Professor on tenure basis shall be eligible for a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 42,000/- per month and Course Director shall be eligible for a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 45,000/- per month.
1. The appointments on contract basis shall be for a period of 2 year tenure basis from the date of joining or till the University issues further orders/decides to terminate the engagement whichever is earlier.
2. The appointments will be made after conducting interview in each subject.
3. Dates of interview will be published on University website only. No individual communication will be sent to the applicants.
The fee for online registration is Rs. 15001-(Rupees One Thousand and Five Hundred only), for SC/ST RS.750/- (Rupees Seven Hundred and Fifty only)
An agreement on bond paper worth Rs.200/- is to be executed by the selected candidates with the University at the time of appointment.

Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination through distance mode from Universities outside Kerala and those have regular degree with different nomenclature should produce an equivalency/recognition certificate obtained from this University at the time of interview/ Certificate verification.
