About- Applications are being accepted for a temporary post of One Research Associate in the project “Circannual timekeeping mechanism: Molecular correlates of circannual rhythm regulating gonad development in a passerine bird, Lonchura punctulata” funded by the Science and EngineeringResearch Board (SERB).

The Department of Zoology at the University of Lucknow is seeking a Research Associate to work on a project funded by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) of the Government of India. The project focuses on the molecular correlates of the circannual rhythm regulating gonad development in a passerine bird, Lonchura punctulata.

Research Area: Zoology/Life Sciences
Location: Department of Zoology, University of Lucknow, Lucknow, India
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. in Zoology/Life Sciences or has submitted the Ph.D. thesis.
- Expertise in carrying out behavioural, physiological, and gene and protein expressions assays with birds, as evidenced by significant research publications.
- Good knowledge of the subject and significant experience and expertise of research in the area of the sanctioned project.
Job Description: The selected candidate will work under the guidance of Dr. Shalie Malik and conduct research related to the project. They will be responsible for carrying out behavioural, physiological, and gene and protein expressions assays with birds. They will also be expected to assist in project management, data analysis, and manuscript writing.
Emoluments: As per the SERB sanction.
Tenure of the Post: Till the end of the project, based on satisfactory performance.
