Candidates with a PhD in any research area relevant to Electrical Engineering are eligible to apply.

Eligibility/Qualification–

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

Must be an Indian citizen.
Must hold a PhD degree from a recognized university.
Must have first class in all preceding levels and a good academic record.
PhD should have been completed within the past 5 years as of the application deadline.
Candidates should have a proven academic record, including peer-reviewed publications and recognitions.
Publications in reputed journals and conferences will receive preference/weightage.
Candidates must not have completed their PhD from IIT Jammu, the host institution.
The upper age limit is 40 years as of the last date of application.
Candidates currently in regular employment are not eligible. Researchers/scientists holding temporary academic or research positions may apply, but must relinquish their current position if selected.

Job/Position Description-

The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu (IIT Jammu) invites applications from highly motivated and academically accomplished researchers for one Postdoctoral Fellow (PDF) position under the Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme for Electronics and IT: Phase II, supported by the Digital India Corporation, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. The position is in the broad research area of Electrical Engineering – ESDM and IT/ITES.

The selected Postdoctoral Fellow will be expected to:

Handle research projects and independently carry out research work.
Evaluate the research work of PhD candidates.
Mentor PhD candidates.
Participate in collaborative research activities under the Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme.
Participate in relevant workshops, events and activities associated with the scheme.

Salary / Financial Support

Fellowship: ₹1,08,393 per month
Contingency Grant: ₹1,00,000 per year
Travel Support: Up to ₹2,10,000 per year, subject to the scheme’s specified conditions.
