Ashoka University, Haryana, India invites applications for Postdoctoral Scientist Post from eligible and interested candidates

About- Ashoka University invites applications from outstanding Indian researchers for the Axis Bank–Ashoka Post-Doctoral Fellowship 2026–27. The fellowship is available across multiple disciplines and is funded by Axis Bank. Selected candidates will work under the mentorship of Ashoka University faculty members and receive competitive fellowship support, housing allowance, and medical insurance coverage.

Appointments can begin as soon as possible, with the joining date finalized through mutual agreement after selection.

Eligibility/Qualification–

Applicants must:

• Be Indian Nationals.
• Hold a PhD in a relevant discipline.
• Identify and contact a suitable faculty mentor at Ashoka University before submitting an application.
• Prepare a research proposal jointly with the proposed mentor.
• Demonstrate strong academic and research credentials through publications and prior research experience.

Designation: Axis Bank–Ashoka Post-Doctoral Fellow

Fellowship Benefits

Candidates with Less Than Two Years of Experience

• Fellowship: ₹80,000 per month
• House Rent Allowance (HRA): 10%
• Medical Insurance Coverage: ₹1.5 lakh

Candidates with More Than Two Years of Experience

• Fellowship: ₹1,00,000 per month
• House Rent Allowance (HRA): 10%
• Medical Insurance Coverage: ₹1.5 lakh

Contract Duration

• Initial appointment for one year.
• Renewable for an additional year based on satisfactory performance evaluation.

Job Description

The selected Post-Doctoral Fellows will:

• Conduct high-quality independent and collaborative research in their chosen discipline.
• Work closely with an Ashoka University faculty mentor.
• Develop and execute the proposed research project.
• Contribute to the academic and research environment of the university.
• Publish research findings in reputed journals and present work at academic forums.

Required Documents

Applicants must submit the following:

1. Cover Letter
   • Mention the proposed mentor.
   • Explain the overlap between the applicant’s interests and the mentor’s research.
2. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
   • Academic background and trajectory.
   • List of publications.
   • Names of three referees.
3. Educational Documents
   • PhD degree certificate.
   • Master’s degree certificate.
   • Any other relevant supporting documents.
4. Joint Research Proposal
   • Prepared with mentor approval.
   • Maximum two pages, single-spaced.
   • Should include:
     • Background
     • Key objectives
     • Significance of the proposed research
5. Two Letters of Recommendation
   • From referees listed in the CV.
