About- Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), India’s first Space University, was established under the Department of Space in September 2007. IIST is presently offering Four-year B.Tech Programmes in “Aerospace Engineering,” “Electronics and Communication Engineering (Avionics),” Five-year Dual degree (B.Tech + Master of Science/ M.Tech), M.Tech, Ph.D. and Post Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) Programmes in specific areas of Space Science and Technology. IIST provides a vibrant and stimulating environment for research in almost all areas of Aerospace Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering (Avionics) and Basic Sciences. The Institute has the state–of–the–art facilities, including high-performance computing facilities, to create the right research ambiance. AREA OF SPECIALIZATION	EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
Structural Mechanics / Composite Mechanics/ Stress Analysis / Continuum Solid Mechanics	Ph.D. in the relevant area of specialization with visible research output; with first class or equivalent at Bachelors Degree in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering or related field and Masters Degree in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering or related field. OR Ph.D. in the relevant area of specialization with visible research output; with first class or equivalent at Bachelors Degree in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering or related field.
Machine Design / Synthesis / Mechanisms	Ph.D. in the relevant area of specialization with visible research output; with first class or equivalent at Bachelors Degree in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering or related field and Masters Degree in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering or related field. OR Ph.D. in the relevant area of specialization with visible research output; with first class or equivalent at Bachelors Degree in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering or related field.
Space Flight Dynamics & Mission Design	Ph.D. in the relevant area of specialization with visible research output; with first class or equivalent at Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering or related field and Masters Degree in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering or related field. OR Ph.D. in the relevant area of specialization with visible research output; with first class or equivalent at Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Engineering.
Quantum Computing (Computer Science)	Ph.D. in the relevant area of specialization with visible research output; with first class or equivalent in Masters Degree in Computer Science/ Computer engineering / Signal processing or related fields. OR Ph.D. in the relevant area of specialization with visible research output; with first class or equivalent B.Tech in Computer Science / Computer engineering. Desirable: The ideal candidate must have working experience in designing quantum algorithms/quantum computing systems. Should have good publication record in high-impact journals and reputed conferences.
Intelligent Robotics, Control and Cyber-Physical Systems (Computer Science / Signal Processing)	Ph.D. in the relevant area of specialization with visible research output; with first class or equivalent at Masters Degree in Digital Signal Processing(DSP) / Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Control Systems or related fields. OR Ph.D. in the relevant area of specialization with visible research output; with first class or equivalent B.Tech in Computer Science / Computer engineering / ECE or related field. Desirable: The ideal candidate must have working experience in designing intelligent robotic systems. Should have a good publication record in high-impact journals and reputed conferences.
Machine Learning / Soft Computing/ Artificial Intelligence	Ph.D. in the relevant area of specialization with visible research output; with first class or equivalent at Bachelors Degree in Computer Science / M.Sc in Mathematics / Applied Mathematics or related field.

Eligibility/Qualification–

Candidates should possess the required qualification on the last date of receipt of the application. Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.

Age Limit as on 22.08.2022: 40 years (Age relaxation applicable as per Government of India orders)

Age relaxation upto a maximum of five years will be awarded for serving academicians in Government Institutions.

Emoluments as of date: Level 12 of the Pay Matrix. The gross emoluments in the minimum pay band will currently be approximately Rs. 1,00,320/- p.m. In addition, House Rent Allowance [HRA] and Transport Allowance at the prescribed rates in force will be paid for those not availing of the Departmental Housing and Transport facility, respectively.
