Eligibility/Qualification–
Research Associate (RA)
- Ph.D. or equivalent degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university.
- Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis may also appear for the interview.
- However, the Associateship will be awarded only after the candidate obtains the Ph.D. degree or provisional certificate.
- Maximum age: 35 years as on the date of interview.
Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications:
- Postgraduate degree in a relevant basic science discipline in first division with NET qualification; OR
- Graduate degree in a relevant professional course (B.E./B.Tech.) in first division with NET/GATE; OR
- Postgraduate degree in a relevant professional course (M.E./M.Tech.) in first division at both Graduate and Postgraduate levels.
- Maximum age: 28 years as on the date of interview.
Age Relaxation
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years, applicable only to non-creamy-layer candidates.
- OBC candidates belonging to the creamy layer are not eligible for OBC age relaxation.

Designation

Selected Research Associates and Junior Research Fellows will undertake research and development activities at DMSRDE, DRDO, Kanpur, in their respective relevant disciplines.
The engagement is for a period of two years, subject to the terms and conditions of the fellowship/associateship.
Fellowship Benefits
- Research Associate: ₹67,000 per month
- Junior Research Fellow: ₹37,000 per month for the 1st and 2nd years
- HRA: As per Government rules
- Contingency Grant:
- Research Fellows: up to ₹15,000 per annum on reimbursement basis for the first two years
- Research Associates: up to ₹20,000 per annum on reimbursement basis
- JRF contingency may be increased to ₹20,000 per annum for subsequent years.
The fellows/associates are also eligible for medical facilities for themselves through the MI Room facility available on campus.
They are not eligible for benefits such as DA, CCA, bonus, retirement benefits, etc.

- Filled-in bio-data in the prescribed format
- Clearly mention the name of the fellowship/associateship applied for
- Recent passport-size photograph
- Xerox copies of testimonials
- Original mark sheets
- Original certificates/testimonials
- Community certificate, wherever applicable
- GATE/NET score card, wherever applicable
- Valid ID proof such as:
- Voter ID
- Aadhaar Card
- PAN Card
- Driving Licence
Candidates currently working in a Government organization, Public Sector Undertaking or Autonomous Body must apply through the proper channel.
