Eligibility/Qualification

Essential: Ph.D. Plant Molecular Biology/Plant Biotechnology/Botany/Biotechnology/ Microbiology or related areas with at least 2 years work experience.

Desirable: Experience in gene cloning, mutagenesis, recombinant protein expression and purification is desired.Preference will be given to candidates, on a case-by-case basis, having first-hand experience in handling and culturing of Phytophthora or Alternaria plant pathogens under laboratory conditions, their genetic manipulations and imaging by confocal fluorescence microscopy. Experience in metabolomics will be an added advantage. and metabolomics

Job/Position Description- 

One Research Associate (RA) position is available in SERB-CRG sponsored project (CRG/2021/000238) on ‘Translating the Phylogenetic affinities between a plant pathogenic oomycete Phytophthora infestans and a human pathogen Plasmodium falciparum to reveal evolutionary convergence in virulence secretion using in-silico, proteomic and metabolomic approaches.’

Fellowship: Rs. 47,000 plus 24% HRA/month

Tenure: Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview.The selected candidate will be appointed on a temporary basis for two months, followed by approval for extension till the end of the DST-SERB project tenure (1 year maximum). The assessment will be based on satisfactory performance by the Principal Investigator.
