Eligibility/Qualification
Essential:
- Ph.D. degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology, Bio-engineering, or equivalent.
- Expertise in plant molecular biology and cell biology.
- Ability to conduct independent research.
- Strong interest in organelle/cell biology, proteomics, intracellular signaling, and plant-pathogen interactions.
- Excellent English communication skills.
Desirable:
- Experience in plant cell biology, confocal microscopy, super-resolution microscopy, proteomics, and/or plant-pathogen assays.
- Publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
- Experience in supervising Ph.D. students is a plus.
Job Description
The postdoctoral researcher will explore the communication between mitochondria, chloroplasts, and the ER in plant stress responses. This project, part of the ERC-STG grant “COSI”, involves:
- Designing and implementing tools to detect and monitor dynamic associations between organelles.
- Using confocal and super-resolution microscopy to study contact site dynamics under various stress conditions.
- Characterizing the dynamic proteome at stress-induced contact sites.
- Supervising a Ph.D. project related to the study.
