About- Indian Institute of Information Technology Bhagalpur (IIIT Bhagalpur) is one of the 25 IIITs set up by MoE, Govt. of India under the Act of Parliament, IIIT (PPP) Act, 2017, and it is an “Institute of National Importance.” It is a joint venture of Govt. of India (50%), Govt. of Bihar (35%) and BELTRON (15%).

The Institute was established in the year of 2017 and currently functioning with B. Tech, M. Tech, and Ph.D. programs in three branches, namely Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering.

Eligibility/Qualification– 

Essential Qualification

• Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline.
• Applicants must have First Class in all preceding degrees from Bachelor’s level onward.
• For engineering disciplines:
  • B.E./B.Tech and/or M.Tech with Ph.D. in relevant specialization.
• For Mathematics & Computing:
  • B.E./B.Tech + M.E./M.Tech + Ph.D.
  • OR
  • B.Sc./BS/BCA + M.Sc./MCA + Ph.D. in relevant discipline.

Experience Requirements

Assistant Professor Grade II (Level 10)

• Ph.D. in relevant discipline.
• No mandatory experience requirement.

Assistant Professor Grade I (Level 12)

• Ph.D. in relevant discipline.
• Minimum 3 years post-Ph.D. experience, OR
• Total 6 years of teaching/research/industry experience in reputed institutions or R&D organizations.
• Minimum 20 credit points as per recruitment rules.

Job/Position Description- 

The Indian Institute of Information Technology Bhagalpur (IIIT Bhagalpur), an Institute of National Importance established by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has invited online applications from eligible Indian nationals for faculty positions in various departments. The recruitment is for Assistant Professor Grade I (Level 12) and Assistant Professor Grade II (on Contract, Level 10) in multiple disciplines including Computer Science, Electronics, Mechatronics, and Mathematics & Computing.

   • Pay Level: Level 12 (7th CPC)
   • Category-wise vacancies:

2. Assistant Professor Grade II (On Contract)
   • Pay Level: Level 10 (7th CPC)
   • Contract tenure up to 5 years.

Selected faculty members will be expected to:

• Teach undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses.
• Conduct high-quality research in their specialization.
• Publish research papers in reputed journals and conferences.
• Supervise B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D. students.
• Participate in sponsored research and consultancy projects.
• Contribute to institutional administration and academic development activities.
• Support curriculum development and laboratory establishment.
