About- Manipur University was established on 5th June 1980 under the Manipur University Act. 1980 (Manipur Act 8 of 1980), as a teaching-cum-affiliating University at Imphal with territorial jurisdiction over Manipur, was converted into a central university w.e.f. 13/10/2005. The Manipur University Act No 54 of 2005 received the assent of the President on 28/12/2005.

Applicants must satisfy the recruitment rules prescribed by the Ministry of Education for NIT faculty recruitment.
Essential Qualifications
- Ph.D. in the relevant or equivalent discipline.
- First Class in all preceding degrees.
- Where First Class is not explicitly mentioned, candidates should have:
- Minimum 6.5 CGPA (10-point scale), or
- 60% aggregate marks.
- Equivalent CGPA conversion to a 10-point scale is permitted where applicable, but conversion between CGPA and percentage is not allowed.
