Designation/Position- Postdoctoral Researcher
Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research Dresden (IFW), Germany invites application for postdoctoral researchers position from candidates having PhD in physics, semiconductor materials or a related field.
About- The Institute for Integrative Nanosciences (IIN), Leibniz IFW Dresden, is one of the world leaders in the domain of strain-induced nano-architectures and provided pioneering contributions to the design, fabrication and characterization of self-assembled quantum dots, superlattices and rolled-up nanostructures. We seek for new strategies to integrate and functionalize nanostructures on a single chip. Leibniz Institute
Location- Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research Dresden (IFW), Germany
Research/Job Area- Physics, semiconductor materials or a related field
Project Title- Spin-photon interface in semiconductor quantum dots
Eligibility/Qualification- The ideal candidate for this position has completed a PhD in physics, semiconductor materials or a related field. A strong back-ground in a related area (e.g. quantum photonics) is required for this position. Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to work both alone and in a team are expected.
Job/Position Description- Excitonic states in semiconductor quantum dots are promising candidates for optically addressable qubits due to their strong light-matter interaction. The postdoctoral researcher will investigate these spinphoton interfaces in newly developed GaAs/AlGaAs quantum dots. These heterostructures offer a set of advantages compared to most other semiconductor quantum dots, including a virtually strain-free environment and reduced nuclear spin noise. The candidate will be integrated into an ERC-funded team (“QD-NOMS” by Prof. Dr. Fei Ding) and is expected to develop his/her skills in leadership and project management.
How to Apply- The application should include a cover letter, a detailed CV, the publication list and the contact information of your referees. We will invite qualified candidates for on-site interviews. Please give the following reference number (DM4000-2/18) and send your application not later than 15 of August, 2018 as a single pdf file exclusively to: bewerbung(at)ifw-dresden.de.
For Contact- Prof. Dr. Fei Ding (f.ding(at)fkp.uni-hannover.de).
Last Date for Apply– 15 August 2018
