Eligibility / Qualification

1. Superintending Research Scientist – Grade C

Candidates must possess one of the following:

• Ph.D. in Chemistry with an M.Sc. in Chemistry of minimum 2 years duration with 60% marks; OR
• Ph.D. in Geology with a Master’s Degree in Geology/Applied Geology of minimum 2 years duration with 60% marks; OR
• Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering with a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering of minimum 2 years duration with 60% marks; OR
• Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering with a Master’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering of minimum 2 years duration with 60% marks.

Additionally, candidates must have at least 4 years of post-qualification relevant work experience.

Upper Age Limit as on 14 November 2026:

• UR: 37 years
• OBC(NCL): 40 years
• SC: 42 years

2. Senior Officer (Mechanical) – Grade B

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering of minimum 4 years duration
• Minimum 65% marks
• Certain disciplines such as Automation, Automobile, Industrial, Power, Manufacturing, Production, Mechatronics, Mining, Marine, Robotics Engineering etc. are excluded.
• Upper age: 27 years for UR, 30 years for OBC(NCL), 32 years for SC/ST and 27 years for EWS.

3. Senior Officer (Petroleum) – Grade B

• Master’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering/Technology of minimum 2 years duration
• Minimum 60% marks
• Engineering qualification at graduation level is required.
• Upper age: 29 years for UR and 32 years for OBC(NCL).

4. Senior Accounts Officer / Senior Internal Auditor – Grade B

• Must be an Associate Member of ICAI or ICMAI.
• Candidates without the required ICAI/ICMAI membership certificate are not eligible.

5. Hindi Officer (Official Language) – Grade A

• Post Graduate Degree in Hindi
• Minimum 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience in official-language implementation/promotion, translation, etc.
• Upper age: 29 years for UR and 32 years for OBC(NCL).

6. Confidential Secretary – Grade A

• 1/2-year Diploma in Secretarial Practice, Modern Office Management/Secretarial Practice, Executive Assistant Diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of computer applications
• Minimum 2 years of post-qualification relevant experience in secretarial functions
• Upper age: 37 years for GEN/EWS, 40 years for OBC and 42 years for SC/ST.

Job Description

Superintending Research Scientist

The role involves:

• Conducting scientific, analytical, experimental and technology-development activities.
• Conducting laboratory, pilot-scale and field-validation studies.
• Designing, executing, monitoring and evaluating research projects.
• Analysing data and validating research results.
• Developing scientific and engineering solutions for technology development and operational challenges.
• Managing laboratory, pilot-plant and testing facilities.
• Preparing technical reports, SOPs, project documents, publications and patents.
• Ensuring compliance with HSE requirements, statutory regulations and Good Laboratory Practices.
• Coordinating multidisciplinary R&D, field trials and external collaborations.
• Supervising personnel and handling related technical, operational and administrative responsibilities.

Hindi Officer

Responsibilities include official-language policy implementation, translation between Hindi and English, monitoring Rajbhasha activities, preparation/vetting of bilingual documents and maintaining related records.

Confidential Secretary

The position involves confidential correspondence, scheduling and coordination of meetings, office documentation, liaison with internal and external stakeholders, administrative support to senior executives, and shorthand/transcription duties.

Location

The projected vacancies are primarily for Field Headquarters, Duliajan, Assam. However, selected candidates may be posted at any operational area or office of Oil India Limited according to organizational requirements, and the positions are transferable.

Selection Process

For Grade C and Grade B posts, selection consists of:

1. Computer Based Test (CBT) – 100 marks, carrying 85% weightage.
2. Personal Interview (PI) – 15 marks, carrying 15% weightage.

For Grade A posts, selection consists of:

1. Computer Based Test (CBT) – 100 marks and the sole basis for final merit.
2. Proficiency Test/Skill Test – qualifying in nature only.

For Confidential Secretary, the skill test includes Shorthand & Transcription. For Hindi Officer, it includes Translation, Essay Writing, Computer Application and Bilingual Typing components.
