Project Description
You will work on Project #14: Microbial Metabolites as Immune Metabolic Switches: Rewiring Lipid Pathways to Shape T-Cell Function. The primary goal is to determine how microbiome-derived metabolites regulate T-cell lipid metabolism and immune activity.
Key responsibilities include:
- Screening tissue- and microbial-derived metabolites for their impact on T-cell function.
- Analyzing metabolite-induced lipid remodeling using advanced lipidomics and single-cell metabolic profiling (e.g., SCENITH, Met-Flow).
- Utilizing CRISPR/Cas9 to identify and perturb targeted lipid metabolic pathways.
- Validating findings in human systems and preclinical inflammation models.
- Participating in planned secondments at the University Medical Center of Mainz to focus on lipidomics and human T-cell models.
