Project Description

You will work on Project #14: Microbial Metabolites as Immune Metabolic Switches: Rewiring Lipid Pathways to Shape T-Cell Function. The primary goal is to determine how microbiome-derived metabolites regulate T-cell lipid metabolism and immune activity.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Screening tissue- and microbial-derived metabolites for their impact on T-cell function.
  • Analyzing metabolite-induced lipid remodeling using advanced lipidomics and single-cell metabolic profiling (e.g., SCENITH, Met-Flow).
  • Utilizing CRISPR/Cas9 to identify and perturb targeted lipid metabolic pathways.
  • Validating findings in human systems and preclinical inflammation models.
  • Participating in planned secondments at the University Medical Center of Mainz to focus on lipidomics and human T-cell models.

Eligibility & Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree (or equivalent University Diploma) in a relevant field.
  • Degree Status: Must not already possess a doctoral degree at the time of recruitment.
  • Mobility Rule: You must not have resided or carried out your main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Luxembourg for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately preceding the recruitment date.
  • Language: Proficiency in English is required for all application documents.

How to Apply
