Eligibility/Qualification:
- A successfully completed Master’s degree in engineering, natural sciences, or a related course of study
- Good knowledge of materials science and energy technology
- Basic programming skills (e.g., Python) and enjoyment of programming
- High degree of independence and willingness to show great commitment
- Very reliable and conscientious working style
- Fluent written and spoken English; knowledge of German is an advantage
Job Description:
- Research publicly available data on current and future materials for energy technologies
- Implement materials data into the technology database and energy system model ETHOS.FINE
- Connect material databases like EXIOBASE to account for competing material demands from other economic sectors
- Analyze and evaluate transformation scenarios to avoid material bottlenecks
- Contribute creative ideas to the doctoral thesis
- Participate in and present research at conferences in Germany and abroad
- Prepare scientific publications and project reports
