Eligibility/Qualification
- A Master’s degree or equivalent in bioinformatics, computational biology, systems biology, or a related field.
- Experience in structural and functional protein annotation.
- Familiarity with UNIX/LINUX systems and shared compute infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis.
- Excellent command of scientific English (written and spoken); knowledge of German and/or French is an advantage.
- Must not hold a doctoral degree and must comply with international mobility conditions: no residence in the recruiting country for more than 12 months in the last 3 years.
Description
This PhD position is part of the METAMIC 3 project, funded by the European Commission under Horizon Europe, aiming to address One Health challenges by integrating microbiome science with translational applications. Responsibilities include:
- Multi-omics data integration and workflow improvement.
- Development of machine learning algorithms for identifying antibiotic-associated proteins.
- Supporting experimental studies, including metagenomic sequencing.
- Participating in secondments at various institutions to enhance skills and collaborations.
