PhD Position in Nanoscale Optical Bio-Imaging & Manipulation

Eligibility/Qualification:
- M.Sc. degree in (applied) physics, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with optics, imaging, data analysis, and computer programming (Python, Matlab, etc.).
- Interest in biophysical, biological, or biomedical applications.
- Effective communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
- Strong commitment to collaborate with scientists from different labs and institutions.
Job Description: As a PhD candidate within the Physics of Living Systems research group, you will contribute to the development, design, implementation, and application of fluorescence-based nanoscopic imaging systems. The project involves collaboration with TU Delft and LUMICKS b.v. Your responsibilities include the development of new hardware and data analysis tools, applying these innovations to biophysical problems, and presenting your findings at national and international conferences. The position offers ample freedom to explore and pursue your ideas and directions, with the goal of completing a dissertation leading to a Ph.D. degree within the 4-year project.

- A challenging position with a salary ranging from €2,770,00 (PhD) to a maximum of €3,539,00 (PhD) gross per month in the fourth year for a full-time employment.
- Initially, an employment contract of 1 year, extendable to a total of 4 years, with the dissertation marking the end of the contract.
