Eligibility/Qualification
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in engineering, computer science, physics, or mathematics
- Strong background in mathematics, programming (Python and scripting languages), and machine learning (including deep learning)
- Knowledge in Speech and Signal Processing, Natural Language Processing, or experience in medical data analysis is desirable
- Fluency in English; Spanish is a plus; French is preferable
- Interest in the target domain and collaborative work

Description
The PhD project focuses on developing AI-based solutions to aid in the detection and diagnosis of depression disorders. Key tasks include:
- Conducting innovative research under the guidance of Dr. Esaú Villatoro-Tello and Dr. Jean-Marc Odobez
- Collaborating with international partners and other doctoral candidates
- Participating in project meetings and assuming leadership roles as needed
- Engaging in various activities and projects at Idiap as directed by supervisors
The successful applicant will spend about six months in Mexico as part of the research collaboration.
