Job Description: The successful candidate will explore the role of small RNAs in the inheritance of epigenetic information and their potential contribution to evolutionary adaptation. Key tasks include:
- Investigating how small RNAs are specifically loaded into sperm.
- Analyzing the impact of these small RNAs in zygotes and embryos.
- Examining whether environmental cues, such as nutrition or temperature, can be inherited to aid offspring adaptation.
- Collaborating with Prof. Kokko’s group to test the relevance of such inheritance under various environmental conditions.
- Employing a range of techniques including microscopy, genetics, CRISPR-Cas genome editing, RNA interference, RNAseq, and sequencing data analysis.
