Eligibility/Qualification
- Applicants must hold an excellent Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge in one or more areas of:
- Machine Learning
- Computer Vision
- Large Language Models
- Robotics
- Diffusion Models
- Reinforcement Learning
- Related AI fields
- Strong programming skills with experience in Python and PyTorch preferred.
- Ability to independently develop, implement, and evaluate research ideas.
- High motivation, scientific curiosity, and ability to work collaboratively.
- Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of German is advantageous but not mandatory.
Job Description / Research Work
The selected PhD researchers will:
- Conduct research on learning-based robotic systems that can perceive, reason, and act in complex environments.
- Develop methods related to:
- Vision-language-action models
- Robotic world models
- Active perception
- Structured memory systems
- Human-robot cognitive alignment
- Hybrid imitation and reinforcement learning
- Medical robotics
- Implement and evaluate AI models through simulations and experiments with physical robots.
- Publish research findings at leading international conferences and journals.
- Contribute to the growth and development of the Physical AI Lab.
