Eligibility/Qualification

  • Education: A Master’s degree in Physics or a closely related discipline.
  • Knowledge Base: A strong background in quantum mechanics and mathematics.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with scientific programming tools.
  • Language: A good command of English, both written and spoken (required for publishing, coursework, and daily communication).
  • Advantageous Experience: Familiarity with quantum optics, quantum sensing, mechanical quantum systems, or the foundations of quantum mechanics.

Job Description

  • Develop analytical and numerical models to describe the quantum dynamics of mechanical systems and their complex environments.
  • Investigate quantum control and noise mitigation techniques to prepare, manipulate, and protect fragile quantum states.
  • Merge experimentally grounded models of quantum systems with mathematical frameworks to probe fundamental physical laws.
  • Publish findings in leading scientific journals and present them at international conferences.
  • Work collaboratively in a newly established theory group led by Assistant Professor Julen Simón Pedernales, and contribute to supervising Bachelor’s and Master’s students.
