Eligibility / Qualification

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Biophysics, or a related field.
  • Experience with AI / Machine Learning techniques.
  • Strong programming skills, particularly in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
  • Good command of English (written and spoken).
  • Ability to work independently as well as in an interdisciplinary research team.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with fluorescence microscopy, biomedical imaging, or microscopy image analysis.

Job Description

The selected PhD candidate will work on developing AI-driven image analysis methods for studying the morphology of the inner ear, including the cochlea and vestibular system. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing AI tools for analyzing large-scale fluorescence microscopy datasets.
  • Implementing and improving deep learning models for inner ear image analysis.
  • Studying structural differences between healthy and disease-affected organs.
  • Contributing to preclinical validation of gene therapy treatments targeting hearing disorders.
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary researchers studying disease mechanisms and therapy development.

The project also involves working with advanced computing infrastructure including GPU clusters (NVIDIA A100 and H100) for high-performance AI research. 💻⚡
