Job Description

The PhD student will work on the ImmunoKeys project, which addresses the need for antibiotic alternatives in animal health. This involves engineering microbial cell factories to produce chitooligosaccharides with optimal immunostimulating properties through a Design-Build-Test-Learn (DBTL) cycle. Tasks include:

  • Screening for novel biocatalysts.
  • Optimizing fermentation strains.
  • Engineering enzymes through rational design and directed evolution.
  • Conducting process development, up-scaling, and downstream processing.
