IISER Pune, Maharashtra, India invites application for Post-doctoral Research Associate Position in IISER from eligible and interested candidates
About- Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Pune is a premier autonomous Institution established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, for the promotion of high-quality science education and research in the country.
Institute invites applications from Indian nationals having an excellent academic record and relevant work experience for the following position purely on a temporary and contractual basis under the funded project.
Research/Job Area- Physics
Location- IISER Pune, Maharashtra, India
Eligibility/Qualification–
| Minimum educational Qualification / | Ph.D. in Computer Science / Meteorology or in any other relevant quantitative fields. Candidates who have submitted their thesis may also apply |
| Preference | Candidates with experience in either one or more of the following areas will be preferred: Experience with Python, in particular with data analysis libraries such as pytorch and scikit-learn Experience in handling meteorological datasets Prior experience in analysing meteorological processes in numerical weather models or global circulation models |
| Job requirements | The selected candidate will be required to investigate state-of-the-art deep learning weather models and study how well they represent the physics of the atmosphere. The candidate will be required to present their work regularly at conferences, workshops, and scientific journals. They will also be required to work together in collaborative projects with doctoral students, and postgraduate students who are part of the group. |
