Description:

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will utilize computational methods to design peptide interactions, aiming to facilitate polymer formation. This project draws inspiration from biological polymers to engineer synthetic counterparts for various applications, including synthetic tissues and targeted drug delivery systems.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate experiment records for manuscript and grant proposal development.
  • Present findings at scientific gatherings.
  • Participate in lab meetings, Journal Clubs, and departmental seminars.
  • Develop and apply computational methods for peptide materials design.
  • Utilize Machine Learning models to establish structure-activity relationships.
  • Conduct Molecular Dynamics simulations for self-assembly studies.
  • Contribute to manuscript and review article writing.
  • Mentor and train undergraduate and graduate students in computational methods.
  • Engage in assigned special projects and related duties.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD degree in chemistry, physics, computational biology, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or related disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous research lab experience beyond coursework.
  • Proficiency in machine learning, statistics, physics, and mathematics.
  • Strong skills in R, Python, or C++.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated capability to work independently.
  • Understanding of structural biology.
