Postdoc/PhD Position: The Institute of Infectiology at the University of Muenster, Germany is offering a Postdoc and PhD position to work on the molecular analysis of the pathogenicity and defense against the host immune system of enteropathogenic bacteria. The research will be conducted in close cooperation with the Vogel/Saiiba group for ScRNA-Seq analysis at the HIRI and others in Wurzburg to study the persistence development of enteric pathogens within a research consortium (SFB Decide).

  • Willingness to work with bacteria (security level 2), mammalian/human cells and material, as well as mouse infection models
  • Experience with molecular biology methods, work with pathogenic bacteria and mouse infection model, flow cytometry, live confocal microscopy is highly welcome and of great advantage.

  • Conduct research on the molecular analysis of pathogenicity and defense against the host immune system of enteropathogenic bacteria.
  • Use state-of-the-art technologies with molecular biology, cell biology, immunology, and infection biology methods, e.g. high-resolution and single-cell microscopy, transcriptomics (RNA-seq/scRNA-seq), and mouse infection models.
  • Work in close cooperation with the Vogel/Saiiba group for ScRNA-Seq analysis at the HIRI and others in Wurzburg to study the persistence development of enteric pathogens within a research consortium (SFB Decide).
  • Work in an international team.
  • Work with bacteria (security level 2), mammalian/human cells and material, as well as mouse infection models.
