Research/Job Area-Â Molecular biology, genetics, or biochemistry
Project Title – small RNA biology
Location- Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Sweden
Eligibility/Qualification–
- A PhD in molecular biology, genetics, or biochemistry is required as well as proven expertise in molecular biology, genetics and plant developmental biology.
- Prior experiences with methods to study epigenetic modifications, small RNAs and bioinformatic skills are assets.
- Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities such as creativity, motivation and drive.
- Good knowledge of English in both speech and writing is a prerequisite.
- Candidates should also have an ability to conduct independent research, take initiative, ask pertinent scientific questions, and interact with other scientists.
As postdoctoral appointments are career-developing positions for junior researchers, research group primarily looking for candidates with a doctoral degree that is three years old at most.
Job/Position Description-Â
Research group is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our ongoing research projects on elucidating the role of small RNAs in plant reproduction. The main focus of the project is to investigate the function of small RNAs during seed development. The project will involve a combination of molecular genetics, small RNA profiling, and epigenome profiling to investigate the functional role of small RNAs during plant reproduction. The position is associated with the research group of Claudia Köhler at the Swedish Agricultural University in Uppsala.
Starting date: January 2020 or according to agreement.
Fixed term employment of 2 years
